There is a $50 entry fee includes (a) a cartridge of film, (b) use of a Super 8 camera for one day, (c) processing services, and (d) a video transfer of your completed film.

Shoot a 50 ft. Super-8 film cartridge (3 min, 20 sec) and you’re done! No movie will ever be easier to make! No experience of any sort is necessary to participate! This event now has a five year history in Winnipeg. The films submitted are usually very diverse in style and are always incredibly interesting. The film participants range from veteran filmmakers to first-time filmmakers. I would recommend signing up today, as the 25 spots always fill up fast.

About the One Take Super 8 Event:

The One Take Super 8 Event (OTS8) began in 2000, with 20 filmmakers each shooting a single reel of Super 8 film, which then premiered to an audience without the filmmakers seeing their work beforehand. All the films were shown as shot. No cuts. No splices. The popularity of this non-competitive festival has allowed it to return each year with more filmmakers participating. To date over 600 films have been created for the One Take Super 8 Event!
