Excerpt from Uptown Magazine February 3, 2011

A technological vision quest is the subject of Skawennati’s multi-episode machinima, TimeTraveller™. Appropriately enough, she has used virtual actors and sets from the online world Second Life to produce her engaging narrative of a poor, urban, Mohawk man, Hunter, who opts to escape his meagre existence in 2099 through a time-travel simulator. Eventually good things begin to happen for this sad sap, as dawning a pair of proprietary, time-travel-simulating wraparound frames opens his eyes.

Excerpt from The Globe & Mail February 7, 2011

In Skawennati’s TimeTraveller™, the trickster’s “What if” question gets projected into the future, where a second-life powwow spectacle, emceed by an avatared-and-feathered Billy Merasty look-alike, takes place in the Winnipeg Olympic Stadium in 2121.

– Robert Enright

Enright’s entire Globe and Mail article titled New aboriginal art show tells stories of adaptation and transformation can be read here.
